The country’s leading automaker Tata Motors has officially launched its much-awaited ‘Micro SUV’ Tata Punch (Tata hbx) in India. The Tata Punch SUV has become the most affordable as well as the safest car. The company has fixed the initial ex-showroom price of Tata Punch SUV at Rs 5.49 lakh in the Indian market.

While the ex-showroom price of the top variant goes up to Rs 8.49 lakh. These prices are introductory, that is, the company can increase the price of the car later. This SUV has got a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP Safety Crash Test. The Tata Punch comes with a design that is inspired by the company’s other SUVs such as the Safari, Harrier (Harrier). However, the company has also given some special design elements to this new SUV, which makes it different from other cars.
Bookings Open
The company has already started booking Tata Punch. Customers wishing to buy this car can book it by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. Potential customers can book through Tata Motors dealerships as well as through the company’s digital platform.
Variants and Price
Tata Punch has been launched in 4 variants – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative to cater to the diverse lifestyle of its customers. There will be a pure base variant, while there will be a creative top variant. The Accomplished, Adventure, and Creative variants are available with both manual and AMT gearbox options.

The ex-showroom price of the base variant Pure (Pure) of Tata Punch has been fixed at Rs 5.49 lakh. The ex-showroom price of the Adventure variant is Rs 6.39 lakh. While the ex-showroom price of the Accomplished variant has been kept at Rs 7.29 lakh. At the same time, the ex-showroom price of the top variant Creative (Creative) is Rs 8.49 lakh. Customers can customize it according to their lifestyle with Rhythm (Rhythm) and Dazzle (Dazzle) customization packs.
Color Options
Apart from this, customers can choose their favorite punch in 7 color options. These include Orcus White, Atomic Orange, Daytona Grey, Meteor Bronze, Calypso Red, Tropical Mist, and Tornado Blue. The punch will also come in a dual-tone exterior color option that will only be available in the top-end Creative trim.
Look and Design
The design studio of Tata Motors based in India, UK, and Italy has jointly designed this car. To create an entirely new category – the sub-compact SUV, which is tailored to the needs of the customer, i.e. small in size but a large SUV in terms of space. The company has built the Tata Punch on ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture). At the same time, Impact 2.0 design language has been used in it.

The Tata Punch has been launched with a design that is quite muscular and attracts the attention of the people. This SUV from Tata is quite compact and its presence on the road is quite tremendous. It gets sleek projector headlamps with sleek and high position LED DRLs, along with the signature humanity line. The LED DRLs are placed above the headlamp cluster.
The front of the car has a large black grille at the bottom with a special mesh design. Fog lamps have been given at each end of it. It gets a tri arrow grille design, circular fog lamps, squared-off wheel arch, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, wraparound LED taillights, high set rear bumper, roof-mounted stop lamp, black cladding.
Size
Tata Punch measures 3827 mm in length, 1742 mm in width, and 1615 mm in height. At the same time, the wheelbase of this SUV is 2425 mm. This is the smallest SUV from Tata. It gets a ground clearance of 187 mm which is the highest in this segment. The boot space of 366 liters has been given in this car.
Engine and Power
Tata Motors says that the Punch SUV will be able to impress a large segment of the customers, be it everyday commuters in cities or occasional commuters out of work. The company has launched Punch SUV with only petrol engine. Diesel engine option is not available in this car.

The Tata Punch SUV gets a 1.2-litre Revotron engine with Dynapro technology. This engine generates power of 86 hp and torque of 115 Nm. This engine is available with the option of 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed AMT.
Top Speed
Tata Punch SUV accelerates to 60 kmph in 6.5 seconds. At the same time, it takes about 16 seconds to reach the speed of 100 kmph. At the same time, it will be launched later with the turbo variant. The company is also planning to offer an option of CNG in it.
Great Features

- The Pure variant of the Tata Punch gets dual airbags, 15-inch wheels, dual drive mode, engine-start stop, 90-degree opening doors, rear flat floor. This variant will be available only in white and gray color options.
- After this, talking about the Adventure variant, the key features available in it are 4-inch infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, front and rear power windows and central remote locking system.
- The third variant gets features like 7-inch infotainment screen, rear-view camera, voice recognition, passive entry, push-button start, six-way height-adjustable seats and cruise control.
- The fourth variant has been introduced in Creative Red, Blue and Dual-Tone color themes. It gets projector head lights and LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, electric ORVMs, auto temperature control, cooled glovebox, leather-wrapped steering and gear knob and IRA connected technology.
Safest Car

Tata Punch has got a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP (Global New Car Assessment Program) crash test. The punch has got a 5-star rating in adult occupant protection and 4-star rating in child occupant safety. Punch has now joined the club of top safe cars in the country.
Talking about the safety features of this SUV, then it will get dual airbags, reverse parking camera, front fog lamps with cornering function, traction control mode, 370 mm water-wading capability, EBD with ABS, brake sway control, auto headlamps, rain- Features like sensing wiper, rear defogger, isofix support have been given.
Competition
It will be below Tata Nexon and above Tata Altroz in Tata’s product line-up. Tata Punch has no direct rivals, but in the Indian market, it competes with cars like Mahindra KUV100, Maruti Ignis. The Tata Punch SUV will also compete with the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
