With less than a week left for the Hyundai i20 N line to debut, select dealerships have started taking bookings for the sportier hatchback for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The carmaker’s first N line model for India – which will be available in N6 and N8 variants – could be based on the Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O) of the standard i20. In such a situation, the sale of this vehicle can start in September this year.
The i20 N line may get a zipper makeover as compared to the standard i20. But this will happen only when the Euro-spec model comes. Talking about the design changes, the teaser of the i20 N Line has revealed that it will get a new front grille and a dual-tip exhaust. Other changes in the exterior design will include a restyled front bumper, side skirts, and a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser.
Hyundai i20 N Line Features
The Hyundai i20 N will also get larger 17-inch alloy wheels with a new machine-cut design. New exterior paint options will also be offered and of course, there will be ‘N Line’ badges on the front and back. However, the change in interior styling will not be that much.
The All-new Sporty Cabin
The dashboard design will remain the same but the cabin is likely to get an all-black color scheme. The accelerator and brake pedals will be sporty-looking metal units and the steering wheel will be a new three-spoke unit.
Infotainment Features of Hyundai i20 N line
Other features will include a digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Blue Link connected car tech, cooled glovebox, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, wireless smartphone charging, etc.
Available engine options in hyundai i20 N line
A single-engine option on the N Line i20 will be a 1.0-litre turbo GDI motor. Similar to the standard model, this motor will generate 120Ps of maximum power and 172Nm of peak torque. It will be available with two transmission options, i.e. a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
How to feel Hyundai i20 N line
The N Line variant will be more fun to drive as Hyundai will tweak the suspension for a sportier ride-handling balance. The steering will also be reworked to improve feel and feedback and the new exhaust will also improve engine sound.
Price of Hyundai i20 N line
Prices are expected to start around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), which is slightly more expensive than the regular i20.
In the market, Volkswagen Polo Tsi and Tata Altroz i-Turbo will be its closest rivals.
