Shamita Shetty is an Indian Bollywood actress and interior designer. In the year 2021, Shamita participated as a participant in the new season of the Bigg Boss show Big Boss OTT. On Saturday 18 September 2021, Big Boss finished third in the final of OTT. She made his debut in the year 2000 with the blockbuster film ‘Mohabbatein’. Apart from this, she also did some films like Zahar, Cash with other actors.
She was a contestant in the reality show, Bigg Boss 3 in 2009. She later participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 8 in 2019 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 in 2019.

Early life of Shamita Shetty
Shamita Shetty was born on 2 February 1979 to father Surendra Shetty and mother Sunanda Shetty in the city of Mangalore, Karnataka state. Shamita Shetty’s elder sister’s name is Shilpa Shetty, who is a Bollywood actress, although Shamita did not get as much fame as Shilpa Shetty in Bollywood. Shamita started training under well-known Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra after completing her fashion designing course in Mumbai.
Career of Shamita
Shamita Shetty started her film career in the year 2000 with the film ‘Mohabbatein’ directed by Aditya Chopra. She was awarded the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female in 2001 for the character she played in this film. After this, in the year 2001, she has done item dance in the film ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’, ‘Sharara Sharara’ and in the year 2002, ‘Chori Pe Chori’ in the film Saathiya, apart from other Bollywood films.
In the year 2005, her film ‘Zehar’ came in which Emraan Hashmi played the lead actor. Most of the songs of this film were super hit. Shamita’s acting in the film was very much liked by the audience. She was nominated for the Star of the Year – Female at Stardust Awards for her role in the film, although she did not win the award.
Television Career of Shamita
Apart from films, Shamita has also participated in many reality TV shows. Her first TV show was the 2009 Big Boss season in which she first appeared as a contestant. However, after spending a month on the show, she left the show midway for her sister Shilpa Setty’s wedding. Presently, she is participating in Bigg Boss 15 and she has entered the Bigg Boss house.
